4-Ways to Save Energy Bill As Much As You Can
If you want to save as much energy as you can, there is one more thing you can do once you have optimized the heating and cooling systems, kitchen appliances and laundry routines. This thing is your electronic appliances. While most of them is thought to use only a trickle of energy, the total amount of electricity needed to power them is considerable.
1)Switch off your PC when you don’t need it. A PC and a monitor will eat up around $50 a month if you keep them on all the time. Do not worry about your PC aging more quickly because you turn it off and on often or about your PC using a lot of energy during the startup. This used to be true in late 70s. Nowadays PCs are much better.
2)Plug off your mobile phone charger when you don’t recharge it. The same is true for all kinds of chargers. In the US such activity costs us 8,000,000,000 dollars a year. Plug your charger right before you need it and unplug it as soon as your cell phone’s battery is full.
3)Remember that all electronic appliances which you can turn off via remote really go to the standby mode and they keep using energy when “asleep.” The only way to prevent it is to unplug them. While it is only a trickle of energy, everything adds up!
4)Keep in mind that seemingly similar devices may need various amounts of energy. Generally, look for the Energy Star mark - it means that the device is considered energy-efficient and uses up to a third of energy needed to power the gadgets without the Energy Star.
